Nursery Project: Mobiles

I adore these cute mobiles from various artist found at Fawn&Forest. I can't stop starring at them. I would purchase one except I really wanted to try making something similar. I do not sew but I think I can handle creating something like the first image, which is too cute for words. An update coming soon on what I have accomplished!

What We Have

In Central New York and all over New York really, is gorgeous rolling hills, changing leaves, and loads of farms! Pumpkin Farms, Apple Farms, beautiful places for fall weddings. I was too impatient to wait to get married in the fall but if I were to do it again, I am adoring the idea of a fall afternoon in a pumpkin patch. You can read the local story here

Cheerin' up Etsy Love

Here are some items that call for some cheering up from the Etsy World! That little owl just makes me smile.

Pretty Little Thieves / Doodle Little BirdieKristina Maries Shop / Karen Fileds Gallery

I needed a little cheering up from this past week. I have been a little MIA and with good reason, last weekend one of the best men I know passed away. My grandpa. He was the most inspiring person I will ever know and this world will not be the same without him. I just hope that someday people will be able to say the same things about me that I was hearing about him. Truly an honor to be part of family that had him in it.

Happy Weekend!

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! This week flew by! Probably because it was pretty amazing for me. I was asked to create an e-vite to an amazing blogger event A Nate Berkus (!) after party hosted by The Nest and Interior Design Blogger Camila Pavone. Huge highlight of my week.

Loving these adorable red tunics posted by Jane from I'll Seen, I'll Said posted

Really want this to die for laser cut map  to hang in the nursery

I laughed, I cried, Best STORY ever!

Have a great weekend.

DIY Lamp

This DIY over on poppy talk is the answer to my prayers! I have been lamp hunting for the nursery and this is just perfectly adorable, cheap, and so simple to do!

A little Fall

A pretty little fall table scape by my friend Cyd. Go show her a little bit of love over on City Cradle Design.

Tiny Little Flags

Super cute new flag pendent initial necklaces from Prismera Design. I also totally adore this girls hair.

The NEW Rue Magazine + Two Brunettes!

I am so so thrilled with the new Rue Magazine that went live today. The time, the work, the dedication that went into this debut issue of Rue is not only stunningly beautiful but has great content! There is also so many talented people who worked on and are featured in this issue I am so incredibly honored to have been asked to be part of one of the features on page 198!

Before Anne of The City Sage Co-Founder and Executive Editor of Rue Magazine could even ask me to be a part of this first issue my answer was already YES PLEASE! Talk about a fun project, an ice cream social party showcasing gobs of goodies from the Ban.Do collection. I got to work with the talented Jen of Ban.Do and had the chance to see my work photographed by Max Wagner !

Some of my favorite articles in Rue are that of the talented MaeMae Paperie where you get to see her studio and download some of her beautiful goodies! The HGTV Design Star party featuring work from another super talented friend Ellie Snow of Hello Tenfold and Mint and a house tour that will make your drool of the incredibly charming, sophisticated, and talented Victoria from Sfgirlbybay. Also the fun video from behind the scenes from the Ban.Do shoot! You can download Two Brunettes freebies along with everyones beautiful work here!

Congratulations to everyone behind Rue and thanks for letting me be a part of this first issue!

The Most Gorgeous Kid's Party

Can you barely stand it? I want this party right now for me as a grown up! It is so gorgeous it hurts your heart a little. This party was designed by a mother in Austin TX for her daughter Matilda's play group, talk about one talented Mama. Mom was inspired by Where the Wild Things Are and The Time of The Buffalo and was looking for a vintage, rustic, sunny modern feel, which she captured perfectly. Not to mention everyone at this party looks super adorable and stylish. Check out the rest of the info over on my new obsession for all things inspiring for kids Ohdeedoh.

Nursery Inspiration

This weekend, and basically all I can think about is BABY BABY BABY! Especially since we are having a girl I am overwhelmed with inspiration for her room. I am not a super pink matchy matchy girlie girl and I never have been. I do want my little girl to have a very sweet room without being too over the top with pinks and keeping it budget friendly at the same time. I love this photo for inspiration found on The Style files, with the blackboard wall, and great shelves, I think it is the prefect mix of girlie and comfort that we are looking for.

We started painting last weekend the nursery Benjamin Moores decorator white which we love, and finished it off this weekend with a last minute decision of the trim in a cranberry and boy is it berry. I am not sure how I feel about it yet but looking forward to seeing everything set up in the room and how it comes together.

I have found mostly all the furniture at thrift stores and garage sales this summer and can't wait to get it in the room. I ordered a bunch of fabric from Hawthorne Threads  for the bedding and curtains which my lovely momma is gonna sew. I have many additional wishlist items I am dreaming about purchasing, we will see what I end up actually splurging on!
