Daily Must: Secret Message Cards

This project from Kanella is one of the coolest and most beautiful projects I have seen in a while. Hand sewn, embossed cards that reveal a secret message.

Design is the Key to the Path towards the Sun. I just love it.

Designer Love: Hoko Studio

Hoko Studio currently based in Singapore is a collaboration of design and styling instillations between two artists Alivin Ho and Clara Koh.

Hoko composes instillations done with common objects and how they relate to each other and to humans. Currently they just have completed a project called Stationery-Ware relating humans to stationery and tableware (does that not sound up my alley). I will tell you how this all relates to me and that is genius!

Miki Sato

Speaking of Miki Sato has anyone seen her new work? I could just die right now a happy woman after looking at these. They are so me! Lucky for me, the Miki Sato shop has opened and has original work for sale! I will be saving my pennies to be purchasing one of these. SO beautiful it hurts.

Blog It Forward

Hi everyone! I am so excited to share with you the Blog-it-Forward post with you all today. The beautiful Victoria at sf girl by bay started this amazing blogger mashup. This has been such a fun and genius idea to get our blog community together. The question we were given is "what inspires you personally?"

When I started to think about this a couple of weeks ago, I thought to myself I am never going to be able to do this because I feel like I am inspired by everything, I really am, and how do you show everything! When I started to dig a little deeper I realized the forces that inspire me each and every day, and here they are...

My family and friends are an obvious choice for me, I am so blessed that I am constantly surrounded by such beautiful inspiring people.

The Cinema! I have always loved movies, but ya know it was the causal artsy flick in high school thinking I was oh so rebellious. In college where I met my husband truly changed the way I look at films. Movies are and extension of him and have become the same to me. They are little pieces of art. I find endless amounts of inspiration in a film, from the costume designs, to the actors, to set designs, to the history, to learning about different cultures, just amazing.

I think art speaks for itself! I am constantly driven by others and what one person can create.

Blogging and the Blogging community has truly changed my life. I am so grateful that I can be surrounded by such beautiful, talented, smart people everyday. It is not even really something I can put into words. The readers, the bloggers, the friends you make, who wouldn't be inspired?

After your read this make sure to check out Torta Gialla who came before me and Verhext who will be up tomorrow! Thank you all for letting me share this, and thank you to Victoria for hosting this!

miss capricho

Miss Capricho which is not this artists name but the name of her studio; and a new to me artist, has the most stunning little illustrations. My jaw literally dropped when I saw these. I never noticed the designer behind the daily candy art, but I am so glad I found her. I'm loving the trendy dressed girls, with cute hair styles and the amazing colors! Makes me want to break out my paints. She has the cutest story with how she came up with her studio name and her portfolio is filled to the brim with beauty.  She has built such a success on her work through package design, textile work and editorial illustrations. My new idol!

Ann Toebbe

I've been a fan of Ann Toebbe's work for a while now but some how forgot how talented she is. I ran across her work again over at 20x200.

With the combonation of gouche and oils her paintings of domestic scenes take on this incredible detail and patterns. Her work reminds of a cross between collages and my old children's books.
