Oliva Manna's Shop

I am hunting for some new packaging materials for orders and I stubbled upon this adorable shop Olive Manna's. Show me anything with stripes and I am hooked, I especially love the polka gray ribbon, wouldn't it look so adorable around some kraft paper wrapping, or a fun solid.

Oscar Party Sneak Peek

This year for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, my husband and I are hosting a party! We usually have a party each year, sometimes it just ends up being us but other times we have guests. However, party or not we always have at least 5 people in on a ballot competition. I hate to brag but I almost always win.

This year, Cyd of the Sweetest Occasion and I are taking over the party decor over, thats right, and here is a sneak peek of some projects we were working on over the weekend.

Come back for the recap after the oscars this weekend!

Aesop's Fables

My dear friend Tara Hogan of Ink + Wit has created a masterpiece!  The Hare and the Tortoise is one of the first of a series of many beautifully illustrated posters. This would make and excellent gift for baby or kids room, heck I want to hang one in my living room!  Not only is this adorable but Tara always uses 100% post consumed paper and prints with soy based inks.  Love it!!

invites!

On this very gloomy day here in upstate NY our paper goodies have arrived for the wedding! I've had our invites designed basically since we got engaged! They have had several modifications of course since then because designing for yourself is said to be hardest task ever, and well they're are right! Every step has been so nerve racking for me. Did I make the right decision, did I choose the right paper, is the style fitting the wedding? UGH!

When I opened the package from Paper Source this morning I couldn't have been more thrilled. I have two different styles of envelopes going and I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but I THINK it does.  The background paper is speciality paper found here for the envelope liner! Its amazing these photos don't do it justice. I am SO excited I can't wait to start.

Roadside

I think I speak for everyone when I say HOW the heck does this girl do this?  Jayme McGowan is an artist and illustrator from Sacramento California. She is the owner of a magical little shop Roadside Projects. I especially am loving her work because not only is it cute and clever but I can't cut for anything. I'm a lefty and never could cut with those left-handed scissors they tried to make you use in school. To say the least I have always really admired paper artists. Anyway, go check out her work its so worth the look.

DIY butterfly punch art

This little adorable, easy and quick project is so much fun. My mother-in-law-to-be actually found this on Aliedwards blog. She was inspired by Catherine Swan who hand cut paper butterflies from vintage magazines.  So we both went out and bought the  Martha Butterfly punch at Michaels  and began punching everything in sight. My butterflies are in the top photo and punching them, I gotta say is very addicting.  My mission to buy a giant frame and hang it in my family room. So much fun.

Tools:
Frame
Butterfly Punch
paper, magazines, anything you can recycle for a new life
