Clara Turns 1!

It happened, well its actually happening Wednesday, but my little peanuts first birthday party was over the weekend. So much prep going into a little ones first birthday! I felt like it was a wedding. Okay not quiet, but a first birthday is a big deal. I finally gave up on a theme, and just went for a ton of color, balloons, streamers, and some Mickey Mouse (clara is head over heels in love with Mickey). The decor, the food, all of the love from family and friends, it actually turned out so much better then I was even envisioning! Don't ya love when that happens? Overall a magical day, for everyone we shared it with, I have one lucky little girl!

A special thanks to the amazing Alice G Patterson who beautifully captured the day with her amazing photos!

Window Shopping at Two Brunettes: Lavender & Twine Blog Design

New from the Two Brunettes Studio is the Lavender and Twine blog!

Daniele and Whitney were such a blast to work with! Basically they gave me their vision, their color palette and let me go crazy with creative freedom! With adding whimsey upon whimsey this project was totally up my alley. Lavender & Twine are very talented creative duo with the proof is in their beautiful photography. I was so inspired by their work and it was such a joy to create.  PS: I animated that BEE!

I really need to take a step back for a moment and be cheesy and a little over the top. I just feel like I need to put this out to the universe. I am immensely blessed to be able to work for myself and take care of my new little girl. Not only that, but I work with some of the most talented people around, who trust me enough to create identities for their business, with tons of creative freedom. Thank you to all my clients who keep Two Brunettes going and keep me so inspired day after day!

Window Shopping at Two Brunettes: Clara's Christening Invites

Clara has a Baptism coming up! Perfect excuse to break out some paper goodies. I actually shopped around for some Baptism invites, because it isn't going to be a huge affair, just something small, and I didn't need that many invitations, and now being a mommy and running Two Brunettes, spare time is priceless. However, I could not find a single cute invitation which allowed a photo and was cute (not super religious looking) for a baby girl. In the end, I just ended up creating something, with pleasure of course! Clara posed for the camera, she was looking right up at her mobile. I thought it suited a Baptism invite perfectly, like she is glancing up at heaven! Now I only have 40 some odd weeks to plan her 1st birthday invites.

Ashley Meaders Pancakes!

Pancakes are in my top 5 favorite foods of all time, and a party centered around one steals my heart!

Ashley Meaders is so freakin talented and clever, and this inspirational shoot created for Design*Sponge and Once Wed is just darling.

Feelin' the Heat

Summer is in full swing in upstate NY. We are totally bombared with hazzy hot mid summer days. I love it.

Looking Glass House Vintage

The Looking Glass House is one of the most beautiful vintage shops I have seen on Etsy.

The beautiful items and styling really make me feel like I am shopping in some little quaint town on the French countryside.

Black Forest Cherry Cake!

Isn't this cake gorgeous?

Every time I try to buy cherries I just can't believe how expensive they are. I think I might have to cave though after seeing this!
